Yesterday, our Roma friends held their weekly Friday Bible study as usual but this time they added a special added component… a farewell party for the Silby family. This is a temporary farewell as the Silbys will be home in the US for 6 months to reconnect with their church supporters and family. The party, which was held on Cejl Street, was a nice occasion for people to show their gratitude to Joe and Julie for their work in Brno and beyond. It is always a blessing to see tears shed because people will miss us when we leave. I am sure the Silbys are filled with many emotions as they prepare to go home… joy in seeing their families, a sense of loss as they are separated from their work here, and the harried feel of getting all of their affairs in order… because in just 2 days they will be on a jet crossing the ocean, headed to America.
There is a small photo gallery below made of pictures that I took to help provide a few memories for all who attended the gathering. Please be in prayer for the Silby family as they travel and share in the love and laughter which can only come from being with our families. Pray also for the ongoing work here in Brno as we do what we can to add to the ministry to the Roma people who live here.
