Yesterday, September 10, 2011… we gathered together with several of our Roma brothers and sisters in Christ for a cook-out at the Majak Ministries facility across town. In short, this was a wonderful experience.
To expound on the event a little, our friends like to gather together a couple of times a year to do this. It gives them an opportunity to travel to a different environment and escape the daily pressures of life. The facility at Majak is very nice and has a sort of quiet seclusion to it which affords some privacy and a sense of calm. The weather was very nice with some overcast skies and mild temperatures. I was blessed to be at the last cook-out but for some reason this time things just seemed more relaxed and there were several new faces in attendance. Below are some photos that I took during the time we were there. Hopefully, they will give you a sense of how nice the evening was. I must give a rose (so to speak) to our friend, Jiri Randall, for organizing the cook-out and taking care of things. Jiri has a big heart for the Roma ministry here in Brno.
During the course of the afternoon, we had some singing and a short Bible study and they allowed me to sing a few songs too. I brought my portable music system with me and played a variety of background music during the cook-out… some of it was old Romanian Roma church music which I obtained back in 2001. The people really seemed to like it. Well, thanks for reading this article and checking out the gallery of photos. God bless you.
