The last few days we have been seeing reports of civil unrest in different locations… mostly in Eastern Europe. Romania and Hungary have been in the news lately. The photo is of a scene in Bucharest, Romania where we lived for a time and where we still have friends and colleagues. First, let me ask you to pray for them specifically that these events will have opportunities to share the hope and peace that comes from knowing Jesus in a personal way. Of course, I would also ask that you pray for their safety and that these protests will not become more violent.
In one sense, we should not be too surprised at this type of news. The scriptures tell us that in the last days before Christ returns, there will be wars, rumors of wars and generally… civil unrest. – Matthew 24:6-8
Back home in the states we have seen protests and great amounts of public dissatisfaction about how our government is “running things.” We can of course, attribute all of this to people being “fed up” with how their governments are treating them but if we are not careful… even the Christian community will miss the bigger picture. The days are growing short my friends, in a spiritual sense. Now more than ever we need to be about the Father’s business of spreading the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. People need to be introduced to a new kind of hope… one that never fails. Amen.
