Saturday, I was blessed to have an opportunity to be a roving advisor of sorts for the 2023 Hub City Innovation Cup. It was held at Union University. I was there, with a few others, to offer encouragement and support to the high school students who participated. They formed teams from a few local schools and were given a prompt, a scenario, and were challenged to provide a solution that would benefit the hypothetical parties who might be facing the situation.
This was a first time for me and I am glad that I went to help. I am in the “ministry,” but I am also a computer technician and have a lot of real-world experience with crafting presentations. So, this was a focus… to try and encourage the students regarding their PowerPoint or Canva presentation materials. I also tried to simply be present and show encouragement for their efforts. I know there were young people there from many different situations, life experiences, and expectations. However, it is good to point out that they were “there.” They banded together to try and hit the mark.
I was not able to stay for the finish, but I’ll post a link below to share more about the outcome. I’ll also add a few photos. Blessings to all who attended, helped, or competed.
