Yesterday I happened to notice this balloon floating majestically in the sky above Bohunice. Actually there were two of them… a red one and a white one. As I took this snapshot, I started to think how the person or persons must have felt way up there above the earth. The temperature was very cool on the ground so it must have been cold way up there. However, I sense that it must have also been calm and quiet. I have never been up in a big balloon like that but maybe some day I will if the opportunity affords me.
I continued to consider the fact that we tend to get so focused on things around us here on the earth that we can lose sight of what is above… in a spiritual sense. The scripture tells us that our enemy, satan, is the Prince and Power of the Air. Yes, that old dragon controls a lot of what goes on in the world that we see. The effects of his working in the lives of people demand our attention as we see a steady stream of sin and disobedience and strife all around the world. Yes, there are also bright spots of victory but generally speaking, we do not see those things tauted within the media outlets which bombard us day in and day out. Ephesians 2:2
I challenge you and myself to stop daily and look up and realize that God created the heavens and the earth. He is an ever present force which must be dealt with. He has also promised us that one day (soon in my opinion) He will send His Son back to claim His church, the Bride of Christ. So, look up… take notice of those glorious skies and the coolness of the breeze… this could be the day that Jesus gilds the skies to snatch away the redeemed. Amen. Acts 1:10-11
