Last evening, I was blessed to join in an ordination council for a brother, new friend, and new committee member for CEF of Greater Jackson. This brother is Bruce Entsminger, and he is being ordained “officially” into the Gospel Ministry at Poplar Heights Baptist Church. Mind you, Bruce has already been dedicated to the ministry for years, as he and his family (hello Monica!) are busy doing Kingdom work for the Lord Jesus. The ordination is simply an official recognition of what he has already exhibited through a changed life, amen. He will also be a part-time staff member at Poplar Heights, BTW.
Interestingly enough, I did not capture a good pic of Bruce for this post. He is in one of the pics below. You will see him if you look close 😉 I took a few random pics during the time I was at the church for the council and in the service that followed and would have gotten a pic of him in the room where we met, but near the end of that session – the lights went out! Thus, the idea for the title of this posting. Friends, brothers, sisters, we have two basic choices in our walk with the Lord. We can hide in His shadow, or we can reflect His glorious light into a lost and hurting world that is filled with darkness.
Choose.
Which will it be? I encourage you to step up and be the light, the reflection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our culture and indeed the world seems to be growing darker and darker with regard to spiritual things. The general populace is being led like dumb sheep into the abyss, the devil’s deception… hell. Sorry if that last statement was a bit harsh. Unfortunately, it is. So, brother, sister, choose you this day… be the light.
Look… Matthew 5:14-16, Ephesians 5:8, Revelation 21:23
