Just a little over a week ago we found ourselves walking into a comfortable mission house in Jackson, TN. This was after about 27 hours of travel and airport delays and such. At this point, I am personally still tired and draggy. A lovely sinus infection which had started even before our journey home had (and has) done a number on me, so to speak. Time will take care of the ills and energy issues and within a few more days I hope to be right as rain.
As you look at the photo which I used for this article, you will see a typical southern breakfast. My dear wife fixed this for us within a day or so of getting moved into this newest temporary home. The food was decidedly southern but the coffee cup was from Greece… a subtle reminder of the roads which we recently traveled down. A biscuit which had grape jam! Awesome indeed. I hadn’t tasted such a delicacy for many months. It was so nice and helped me to focus on the here and now… the changes… the future in my homeland. God is at work within our family and our ministry endeavors. We will put our trust in Him alone for the results. Yet, for now… we need a time of rest and unwinding. Resting in the Lord. I am so thankful that He is in control and that He has taught me to listen to Him more than men. Pray for us as we take a short sabbatical and then rejoin the race that is before us. A little word of encouragement would be welcomed too. Blessings to you and yours… amen.
