This gallery was taken from a gathering at Mike and Wendi Young’s home here in Brno. We were invited along with a few other missionary couples and singles to join in celebrating Thanksgiving. This is a decidedly American holiday even though Christians all over the world also have much to be thankful for. This is just the specific day that we focus on it formally. For most Americans, this means getting together with family and friends and having a nice meal of turkey, dressing, various casseroles, and deserts. Of course, it also means sharing in the occasion with thankful hearts.
The Youngs also work for our organization and we met another “new to us” couple who work in Czech Republic through imb. Other couples and singles were from other mission sending organizations and the whole afternoon was just great! To be abroad and spend major holidays alone is very difficult… trust me. However, when friends care enough to invite you to their home on such days… well, this is a blessing that takes on added importance. The photos below are not the best quality as I didn’t use a flash and that makes it harder to get things focused so… sorry for the blurred pics!
