a.k.a… Humboldt Lake! Yes sir, that was the name for a big part of my life. As a young lad, my family spent many many hours on this lake or on its banks, catching fish and enjoying God’s beautiful creation. I’ve caught catfish, bluegill, shell crackers (red ears), bass, carp, and turtles. The lake is big enough to hold lots of fish and from the air, it looks a bit like a horseshoe though you would likely not realize it when you are in a boat. I know about the aerial view due to a little off-the-clock adventure I took with a friend, years ago when I was a home service insurance agent 🙂
Davy Crockett Lake is a bit of a hidden gem for folks that have never seen it. The main walkway has been greatly improved, the dock is better, and the pavilions are much better. This is a good place to host small family / friend gatherings or simply have a quiet day of fishing and reflection. And, oh my goodness… today I learned from one of the signs that they have stocked the place with walleyes. Imagine that!
