Last Saturday, I was blessed to meet a very successful doctor and devoted Christian man. His name is Ming Wang and he blessed our local CEF ministry by coming to our chapter location to share his amazing life story. He allowed us to use the occasion as a fundraiser too, to benefit the work we do in central West Tennessee – sharing the Gospel with children.
To be clear, Ming’s formal title would be: Dr. Ming Wang, M.D., Ph.D. and he deserves every honor that his title indicates. Dr. Wang and I are the same age and I do not think I have met anyone (personally) who has accomplished as much as he has at this stage of life. Dr. Wang, if you ever read this blog article, I am not saying these things to puff up your ego, no sir… I am simply acknowledging what I have witnessed. Even though he has achieved much in this life, in personal communication and even in a casual social setting, he never seemed haughty nor pretentious. I REALLY appreciated that about him.
During the event, he spoke about his life and escaping communist China for a fresh start in America. He recounted his conversion to Christianity and how his faith has guided his steps since. One theme that kept surfacing throughout the evening was his desire to see Christians seek common ground with lost souls around us, in order for us to win them to faith in Jesus Christ. Dr. Wang especially focused on the disenfranchised youth among us. This represents a stark truth that we often struggle with… how do we win our children back to Christ and get them back into church?
I could write a lot about Dr. Wang and his accolades, but I will finish this article with a few links to resources that you can look at to discover more for yourself. One last thing to note though concerns a powerful new movie that will be released this October. This movie, “Sight,” is about Ming’s life journey and how God has used him to bring healing to many people over the years. I’ll also include a link to the movie trailer. One last thing, Max… if you read this article, THANK YOU brother for making this connection. I appreciate you.
Here are a few photos taken at the event. If you get an opportunity to meet Dr. Wang, I am confident you will have the same opinion that I do. He is an awesome brother in Christ and a hard worker in his profession and his faith.
