September 22nd, 2012… this was the day when we held our 5th annual Hispanic outreach event. It was held on the grounds of FBC Medina in cooperation with Chapel Hill BC. This ministry was birthed a few years ago when the Lord placed a need on my heart and the heart of a few other men to start a ministry to reach the Hispanic community around us in Gibson County. It is an interesting story of faith and the providence of God. This is not an easy ministry and in some ways it reminds me of Romani ministry. After Dawn and I became involved with overseas missions, this ministry was taken over by Jason & Isabel Hance. They were indeed a God-send and have done a good job shepherding this group for 5 years. On “this” day, the event was well received and we had several interesting facets included. An outstanding vocalist sang, we had 2 Hispanic pastors from the immediate area join us, and the Gideons presented Spanish New Testaments to everyone. Jason also presented a clear Gospel message to the group in their heart language. Jason, thank you and Isabel for continuing on with this ministry even through the difficult times. God will bless you for it!

We’ve all been there, right? Someone who you depended on has let you down. That job that you hoped to get didn’t materialize. The report from the doctor was not what you thought it would be. Today, I had a unique opportunity to share a few moments on a live local television program to speak briefly about the current upheaval in our nation concerning the potential overturning of “Roe vs Wade.” We did an interview via Zoom at Poplar Heights Baptist Church. The “we” consisted of Pastor Clarence Currie, Pastor Richard…

Push Back Against the Darkness
Lately, it seems that the world around us has gone completely mad. People in and out of the “church” seem to be confused about some of God’s basic instructions for living a decent and good… or should I say moral, life. Over the last few days, we have seen news that seems to be backwards…
