Last Sunday night, I was blessed to take part in a very special event. I joined my old friends to have somewhat of a reunion concert of the Kindred Spirits. The original “long-standing” group was made up of Dale & Christi Denning, Danny King, and myself. We traveled together for over 20 years, singing in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky. Naturally, most of our activity was in West Tennessee. At the height of our music ministry, we would average singing around 60 to 70 times per year. We also had opportunities to sing on various radio stations, live TV broadcasts, and made several group cassette tapes. Yep, it was that long ago!
Oh… I could tell you some stories! Broke down buses, wild telethon appearances, skunk invasions, swan-dives out of CAT wreckers, and “I saw you looking at me” moments 😉 However, maybe some of those stories can be shared in the future. We’ll see.
Honestly, Sunday night was a BLAST and brought back a lot of wonderful memories of traveling and singing with my friends. I sincerely appreciate Dale and the members of Elevate for hosting the event and taking up a nice offering to support the important work of CEF in central West Tennessee. To each person who made a contribution, thank you very much! Now, look below for a few photos and a video link that will take you to the proper page on Facebook.
