In 2009, Dawn and I moved to Romania to start our full-time missionary service with IMB. I could write volumes about that one event and how it came to be a reality. However, This post is about a vivid memory that came to mind a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon a beautiful drone video on YouTube. It was recorded in exactly the location where we lived in Braila, RO.
The man who made the video is Iulian Berca and Braila is his hometown. I emailed him to get permission to use the video on my blog and he agreed. If I understand his bio properly, he is an electrical engineer and at the time of this writing, he is working in the Netherlands.
The video below is beautiful and well done. It shows this zone in Braila perfectly, and the apartment that we lived in for over a year is clearly displayed. When I watch it, it brings back so many memories. The beautiful Orthodox Cathedral is front and center, the large round-a-bout, the two stores that we walked to for food are easily seen, the smoke-filled restaurant across the street where we occasionally ate supper, and the not-so-blue Danube River in the distance.
Watch the video to get a sense of what we saw and experienced for the time we lived there. Enjoy.
