So, this post is special, and I am not 100% sure yet where it will take me, but it is a good story to tell… so, here we go!
Recently, I joined a group of brothers and sisters at a monthly prayer gathering at my friend, Santhosh Abraham’s home. I have spoken about this group before, but this post will attempt to recount a lovely divine appointment that came together that very night. I won’t mention the names of the people I am discussing. Not because I am afraid to do so, but I just don’t want them to feel like I am trying to manipulate the situation I am about to relate.
Ok, Santhosh had mentioned to me in a message that there was a person that he wanted me to meet that night because of his powerful testimony. It turns out that this was a pastor in a neighboring county. This brother brought most of his family with him. They were a nice group of people and indeed, the father had a very powerful conversion testimony. There were elements of it that were reminiscent of my own. The specifics were different, but the “feel” of his experiences seemed familiar. I would say that both of us came into a life of ministry in atypical ways.
As the evening continued, this brother also played and sang a great song and accompanied a college student who led us in an original song that he wrote. They are both talented people in the realm of music. After the testimony, songs, and prayer time, we gathered in the kitchen area for a meal together and further fellowship. It was then that I discovered the divine appointment. I asked the pastor’s wife where their church was, and she gave me the name… which sounded familiar. Then it hit me that this was the name of a church where a lady was from who had attended a recent CEF children’s ministry conference just a few days earlier. I mentioned the attendee’s name and the pastor’s wife said… “that’s his mom” as she pointed to a young man who came with them to our prayer gathering. I assume he must be dating the pastor’s daughter. So, out of the blue (as they say), this group of people were praying with us and breaking bread, and we had opportunities to touch on the ministry of CEF. I offered to come to their church and share with the congregation or a smaller “interest group” if they felt that we might discuss partnering in their county.
Naturally, I do not think this is a given, but it does seem like God wanted this random meeting to occur. I pray that He will help us work for the betterment of the Kingdom in the days ahead. Now, here are a few photos of the gathering. As always, it blessed me, way down deep 🙂
