This second gallery has more pictures of the zoo and the palace and grounds surrounding it. The palace grounds were enormous to say the least. we walked through a large woods on the way to the zoo and then past what is known as the Gloriette. In the previous album, there is a photo of it where it is enshrouded in mist… I commented to Dawn that it reminded me of a scene from “The Lord of the Rings” when the travelers would come upon some ancient temple or monument. In this album you will see it after the mist has gone away and the sun finally came out to light the scene.
In the zoo, we saw some of our favorite animals. We saw the Firefox… better known as the red panda. We also saw Dawn’s favorite… the koala bear. There were elephants and bears and an aquarium with various fish and giant tortoises. Another thing which is interesting is that this zoo is supposed to be the oldest zoo in the world. After we left the zoo, we went to the palace grounds and I took several pictures. I may post another article later to highlight a couple of panoramas which I am working on. Please enjoy the pictures below.
